Daily Cultural Activities – Weekend Tours – Family Homestay
An immersion Spanish course is the fastest and most effective way to learn Spanish! Taking several hours of private Spanish lessons a day and being surrounded by native Spanish speakers round the clock, you will progress very rapidly and learn to understand and communicate effectively with Spanish speakers.
Our Spanish programs are designed to make you speak, speak, speak! Of course you also acquire a solid knowledge of the Spanish grammar and a good working vocabulary, but we don’t stop there. We make sure you will be able to apply what you learn in class and speak Spanish in realistic everyday situations.
Our teachers are all native Spanish speakers. They have received extensive training and have many years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language.
To make your trip to Guatemala even more memorable, we provide not only Spanish lessons and family homestays – the traditional parts of an immersion course – but also a full range of services to help you make the best of your stay in Guatemala.
Private lessons are the fastest and most effective way to learn Spanish. Your teacher is there only for you and can adapt the lessons to your needs, interests and learning style.
With one-on-one lessons, your teacher can concentrate fully on you. Your lessons go at the pace that is right for you and conversation is about topics that interest you. Your teacher is always there to answer your questions and practice with you until you can confidently apply the lesson before moving on to the next one. Our teachers are all native Spanish speakers, born and raised in Guatemala. They have received extensive training and can look back on many years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language.
Immersion Spanish courses are more than just learning to speak Spanish! While you study Spanish at Ixchel, you also learn a lot about many aspects of living in Guatemala and Latin America. You experience the customs and culture of the Spanish-speaking world first-hand and learn about Guatemala’s fascinating history as well as the country’s economic and political situation.
Homestay with a local family, extracurricular activities and weekend tours are great ways to learn outside of the classroom. Being immersed in a Spanish-speaking environment round the clock, you interact with many native Spanish speakers and practice what you have learned in class in real-life situations.
