Your teacher is always there to answer your questions and practice with you until you can confidently apply the lesson before moving on to the next one. Our teachers are all native Spanish speakers, born and raised in Guatemala. They have received extensive training and can look back on many years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language.
Latin American Culture and Customs
Immersion Spanish courses are more than just learning to speak Spanish! While you study Spanish at Ixchel, you also learn a lot about many aspects of living in Guatemala and Latin America. You experience the customs and culture of the Spanish-speaking world first-hand and learn about Guatemala’s fascinating history as well as the country’s economic and political situation.
Homestay with a local family, extracurricular activities and weekend tours are great ways to learn outside of the classroom.
